The Federal Aviation Administration has approved for commercial use the folding composite wingtips that will be installed on the upcoming Boeing 777-X program.
The two variants, the -8 and -9, can now use the wingtips without any form of restrictions commercially.
The only condition that the FAA subjected to Boeing was that the aircraft must have multiple automatic warning systems which will let pilots know whether the wingtips are fully extended for takeoff.
The FAA also said that the Boeing must show that, during flight, the wingtips can never be accidentally retracted, and that no subjected force can unlock the mechanisms.
Furthermore, they said that, during testing, the wings must be able to withstand up to a 75mph force on the ground.
These conditions come following the FAA’s concerns over the safety of the wingtips, as they will have to fit in with the operational capacity of airports around the globe.

Swiss drone manufacturer Flyability has made a name for itself with its rugged Elios drone, which flies in an insect-inspired frame and effectively bounces off obstacles. This kind of capability has obvious applications in public safety and industries such as construction and mining, where the working environment isn’t always friendly.
This week Flyability have revealed that the Elios has gone a step further in the dangerous environment stakes, proving its worth in the nuclear industry after exposure to deadly radiation.
Yes, you have heard right.
A Japanese company will send drones blaring loud sounds music late at night in a bid to force workers to go home.
In a statement, the company said: “T-Friend not only strengthens the security of the office space at night, but also urges departure by regular patrol.
“It has effects such as restraining overtime work and can be used to improve workplace environment for reform of workers
“It will encourage employees who are present at the drone patrol time to leave, not only to promote employee health but also to conduct internal security management.”
Karoshi, which translated means “overwork death”, has long been a problem in Japan, with cases of workers dying due to stress and long hours being so widespread the government publishes official statistics on the phenomenon, and technology revolving around unmanned vehicles seems like a probable solution to this problematic.
Another great use of this technology.
Following the first edition which took place one year ago, Aerospace Summer school is back with a new group of participants and challenges.
The program first and foremost was designed to stimulate minds, by associating knowledge with practicality and teach engineering students about the importance of resilience, facing problems and working on meaningful yet hard projects within their scope of study.
The atmosphere we try create for them at out headquarters is one of motivation, passion, unity, cheerful spirits and wonder by science.

Aerospace Summer School was created out of need, the need our engineering students express during their summer breaks when looking for internships, for opportunities, or for anyone to validate their paperwork regardless of the added value.
We offer students an extensive program of science along with the opportunity to work on a practical engineering project, which is the design and conception of unmanned prototype within the aeronautics field.

The ‘CNES’ has officially created an investment fund ranging between 80-100 million Euros; dedicated to help start-ups specialized in satellites, launchers and new services.
This fund will intervene in the development phase of young European enterprises, with the objective to promote space technologies and their usage, notably favorazing its emergence to the marketplace.

Aerospace engineering draws awe and amazement whenever the echoes of its history are narrated in front of an audience, a proven fact during our exchange with the students of ENSA-Marrakesh whose passion could be sensed all over the room.
During this encounter, the Moroccan Aerospace Institute team has had the chance to share with electrical engineers in the making their intake about the field, its challenges and the requirements of excellence it demands.
It was an inspiring display of youth dynamism which will only expand through our Aerospace Summer School.
Being an engineer is no easy task, being a great one is even harder especially amidst the noise surrounding individuals and dreamers by their friends, professors and the job market.
Scientific alienation, meaning ending up performing monotonous tasks with little or no connection to your background is one of the heaviest burden a person may endure, as it leads to a decrease in energy, motivation, creativity, and has an overall negative impact on one’s life and in exchange of what? A paycheck.
Whatever your reasons, conditions and issues, never settle for mediocrity as the success of some of the great minds of contemporary society came from even harsher stories of tragedy and failure, and actually one of the traits of character they held dear during those periods is the ability to stand strong face to criticism, false opinions and bad advice.
Try it once in a while, we remain at your disposal if you have a project you want to defend.
Our lives are dictated by the choices we make and choices you will be forced to make, whether personally or professionally.
Decision making is about filtering the extrinsic noise coming from what others consider as the norm, about detaching yourself from negative influencers, about the ability to bear criticism and accept that no matter what you do, you won’t be able to please everybody PERIOD, about grit and perseverance, about never ever settling about anything less than we aspire to be.
If history taught us anything, is that people with the courage to speak their mind and follow in the footsteps of creating the world they have envisioned, end up doing just that.
Take risks and break the status quo, because as a wise man once said:
“The people who are crazy enough to think they can change the world are the ones who do”
